Evig Natt’s music is aggressive yet subtle, noisy yet beautiful — a maelstrom of symphonic darkness best described as Orchestral Gothic Doom Metal.
From the unholy metal grounds of Karmøy on the west coast of Norway, the band follows in the footsteps of Einherjer and Enslaved, featuring former members of both. EVIG NATT was founded as a studio project in 2003 by vocalist Kirsten Jørgensen and bassist Stein Sund, soon joined by drummer Harald Magne Revheim.
In 2006 the band signed with Omvina Records and released their highly acclaimed debut album I Am Silence in early 2007.
With the addition of Oskar Naley (vocals), Ruben Osnes (guitars) and Arne Marton Tangjerd (guitars), EVIG NATT recorded their darker and heavier second album. After signing with Black Bards in 2009, Darkland was released in April 2010 to raving reviews, earning the band features in major international magazines such as Metal Hammer and Scream.
The band’s third, self‑titled album Evig Natt was released on March 19th, 2016, followed by touring in countries including Belgium and Japan.
In 2024 EVIG NATT entered a new chapter by signing with the Italian label Wormholedeath, marking the beginning of a more international phase. Under this partnership the band released their fourth full‑length album Vaketimen on February 20th, 2026, receiving strong critical and listener feedback and further solidifying their position in the Nordic dark‑metal scene.
