KAKIA is a female-fronted Melbourne-based black metal band combining raw aggression, bleak atmosphere, and melodic intensity. Their sound moves between abrasive, fast-paced passages and darker, more atmospheric sections, keeping the focus on emotion and impact rather than overproduction.

Formed in 2025 by vocalist Effy Strange and bassist Zodiak, KAKIA is currently a two-piece seeking additional members. The band takes a distinctly personal approach to black metal, drawing on themes of isolation, loss, anger, and emotional destruction while maintaining a sound that is harsh, atmospheric, and uncompromising.

Their latest release, My Final Breath, continues to develop KAKIA’s sound and place them within Melbourne’s underground metal scene.
