Lode Star is a studio-based heavy music project blending doom metal, modern metal, and hard rock with a strong melodic core. The band is built across continents, with Kate Glock (vocals, keys) based in Ireland and Jensen Rodolfo (guitar, bass) in Canada. They began collaborating during the pandemic and have been creating music remotely ever since.

Drawing influence from early 2000s metal while embracing a modern production style, Lode Star focuses on memorable riffs, strong melodies, and powerful vocal hooks. In contrast to a landscape often defined by genre blending, ultra-low tunings, and extreme vocals, the band leans into a more traditional songwriting approach heavy music that remains melodic, emotional, and impactful.

Lode Star has released three full albums and an EP to date. Their cover of Cryoshell’s “Creeping in My Soul” gained unexpected viral momentum, bringing in a surge of new listeners. Their work has also been featured in Rocksmith 2014 and covered by publications including Powerplay Magazine, Metallurg, Odyssey, and others. After a recent in-person reunion, the band is currently working on new material and preparing for their next album, due in 2026
