In a city famous for country, MAIASAURA came to prove Nashville can go heavy.

Formed in Nashville's underground rock scene, MAIASAURA is a female-fronted band at the forefront of the nu-metal resurgence. Frontwoman April Rose Gabrielli set out to carve space for women in a male-dominated genre, exploring themes of authenticity, industry challenges, and the power of social media in music promotion. 

Their sound is bold and rhythmic - a collision of nu-metal nostalgia, industrial edge, and modern alt-metal production. It's music for the #metaltok and #baddiecore generation, but with real musicianship: white Fenders, red drum kits, Tobias basses, and vocals that go from a whisper to "THAT note" out of nowhere.

What started as DIY clips filmed in concrete underpasses and home studios has become a full movement. With tracks like "Girls Just Wanna" - hailed as a girl anthem and women-supporting-women statement - Maiasaura turns cute aesthetics and heavy sound into defiant empowerment.

Live, they are pure feral energy. Whether it's a random weeknight at The East Room flipping the "Nashville is country only" stereotype or supporting a Linkin Park tribute in front of a packed Exit/In crowd, the mission is the same: Let us be your nu favourite band.
