Nordblut is an Austrian blackened pagan metal band from Lower and Upper Austria, combining the ferocity of black metal with hard rock groove and Black ’n’ Roll energy. Rooted in German-language lyrics, mythology, history and pagan traditions, the band has developed a distinctive sound that merges raw aggression with epic melodies and atmospheric storytelling. The term “Alpine Pagan” has been used by critics to describe this unique regional and stylistic identity.

Originally founded near Melk, Nordblut returned in 2020 after a hiatus in 2014 with a renewed line-up and clear artistic direction, marking the beginning of a new creative phase.

Their debut album Av Liv Og Kamp (2022) established the band within the Austrian metal scene and received strong responses from the underground community. Despite pandemic-related challenges, Nordblut reached the finals of the Planet Festival Tour as the only metal act in the competition, highlighting their crossover live appeal.

With Heathen Path (2025), the band refined its identity into a more focused and dynamic expression, balancing powerful anthems with atmospheric depth and cohesive narrative structure.

Live, Nordblut has built a solid reputation through energetic performances across Austria and appearances at festivals such as Helles & Hellfire Festival, Heathen Gathering Festival, Moost Wanted Festival, Brainbridge Festival and Julfest.

Today, Nordblut stands among the rising names of the European pagan metal scene, continuously strengthening its presence through intense live shows and a steadily growing audience.
