OBSIDION was founded in 2019 by Tora-Linn and Gillian with the aim of establishing a unique style in symphonic metal, featuring Tora-Linn's mezzo-soprano alongside Gillian's cello as an accompanying voice and borrowing parts of the band's rhythmic segment from metalcore.

The band's beginnings were characterized by intensive songwriting and the development of their unique style. However, like many artists, OBSIDION experienced an unforeseen turn of events: The global corona pandemic forced the band to take a long break. During this time, there were several changes in the lineup, as not all members were able to share the musical vision.

Despite these difficulties, the creative core of the band remained intact and OBSIDION eventually found its way into the studio. In June 2024, the band's debut single saw the light of day. With its blend of symphonic elements, powerful guitar riffs and Tora-Linn's expressive voice, the track “Night Unfrozen” united the essence of the band. This single and the accompanying music video also attracted attention beyond the metal scene. The second single “Delirion” followed in January 2025, a story about delusion, truth and the shades of gray in between.

With great anticipation, the members of OBSIDION are now looking forward to their first EP, which will be released in 2026 under the title “Emotional Alchemy”. The EP will mark another chapter in the band's history and emphasize the emotional depth and musical versatility of the band.

In 2026 the band consists of six members: Tora-Linn (vocals), Gillian (cello), Flo (guitar), Jester (electric cello), Chris (keyboard), and Samuel (drums).
