Splintered Throne represents the finest in US Power Metal, with ripping riffs, soaring dual solos, thundering drums and bass, and aggressive yet melodic vocals. Hailing from Portland, OR, this quintet has made its mark on the Pacific Northwest for many years, while shapeshifting with some personnel changes along the way.

At the band’s heart lies guitarist/ songwriter Jason Moser and bassist/ founder Brian Bailey. Kris Holboke has long held the drum throne, with guitarist Matt Dorado and vocalist Lisa Mann being the most recent additions. Mann joined the band after hearing (from the audience at a Flotsam and Jetsam show where they opened) colossal vocalist Brian Garrison’s announcement that he intended to step down from the band. She met them in the lounge after their set, and the rest is history.

ST has released multiple albums, starting with “Shattered” (EP-2011), “The Octagon” (2014), “Redline” (2017), “Live at Billy Blues” (2019), and the first album with Lisa Mann on vocals, critically acclaimed “The Greater Good of Man” (2022). Metal Epidemic called “The Greater Good of Man” “an absolutely scorching hot album,” and Angry Metal Guy reported that with the release of the album, “Splintered Throne have set themselves up for traditional metal and hard rock domination.”

Now the band is preparing to release a new EP, recorded at the prestigious Opal Studio in Portland, and featuring retina blistering artwork from Misha Mono. Be sure to listen to their previous work, and keep your eyes on the band’s website, socials and Bandcamp to stay apprised on the coming release.
