Symphress was born in 2015 in Cluj-Napoca, evolving from an acoustic-ambient project into a progressive and symphonic metal band. Following their debut in 2016 at Flying Circus Pub, the band went on to perform at Irish Music Pub and Arca Bar (Vama Veche), as well as major festivals including Bucovina Rock Castle, Celtic Transilvania, and Valea Străjii Motorfest.
Their debut album, Father Time – Part I (2023), an ambitious 14-track concept record, was followed by the single Dewsong and the EP Un Cântec Simplu — a tribute to Viorel Simionca (Nordica). In 2024, the band released their sophomore album, Pseudo, promoted through national tours and concerts alongside Sirenia (NO), Gothic (RO), and other international acts, with appearances at Metal Ladies Night IX and Dirty Fest.
In 2025, Symphress began unveiling their third album, Serpentine — a collection released gradually, track by track, throughout 2025 and 2026. The musical direction marks an opening towards alternative metal, while retaining the band's distinctive sonic identity. The Serpentine Tour in autumn 2025 included appearances at Hillsfest and Symphonic Metal Echoes, and the summer of 2026 brings the band to Celtic Transilvania for the third time, alongside debut appearances at Barock Fest and Rock Revolution Bobâlna. That same year, Symphress reached the finals of Posada Rock, one of Romania's oldest and most prestigious band competitions.
Symphress appeals to fans of Nightwish, Dream Theater, and Opeth, cementing their place as one of the most promising acts in Romanian metal — a band of contrasts and continuous evolution, captivating audiences at every performance
