With In Control, fronted by Lexa Wilding, are a heavy rock band with grunge, metal and prog influences. We write emotive, honest and raw songs that centre on real-life experiences . The music is dynamic and cinematic and seeks to forge a connection between the band and those who have survived similar circumstances and to serve as a promise that things do get better... "From Ruin" means to survive the trauma and the pain and to rise from it all to create a life we thrive in. The band aims to create a community of people united by music, support and shared experiences.

Fans of bands like Sleep Token, Fight Star, Sound Garden, Pearl Jam and Alice In Chains may like what we do. We know that's a varied collection but it well represents how dynamic and sonically diverse our sound is.

With In Control launched in May of 2026, most the members met at music collage in Inverness, Scotland.

Lexa is the creative drive of the whole project, writing from her own experiences and utilising her varied musical influences (everything from early era Genesis to System of a Down, Sleep Token, Pink Floyd and Tori Amos). Euan Geddes, on drums, brings his heavy metal drumming style, Fin Fraser's classic rock and grunge guitar and Ciaran McAvoy's punk and metal bass style all help to drive a satisfying and immersive sound that remains unique yet accessible.

The band are on the up, rising in social media numbers and streams everyday, developing an exciting and atmospheric live show and cultivating a rich and engaging experience for fans and listeners.
